September 13th (Saturday) 2008
6:00pm
NDA Team & NDA Doubles sign ups.
Vend Alaska will be giving out door prizes and sign ups will follow the General Membership meeting. This is where the NDA board is elected and any rule changes that need to take place are discussed. Have a question about the board, rules or anything in general, this is the place to do it, before the season has started. Every one is encouraged to be at this meeting, as the elected officials from this will make our decisions through out their term.

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our favorite darters. Eleanor S. Holdsworth, affectionately know as "Mom" by Alaskan darters, died July 13th in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. (Click this story to read her obit)

A meeting for Q&A about about playing in the 2008 Medalist World Championship.
When: 8/6/08 6:00pm
Where: PJ's

Bring your proof of flight & registration into the event to receive your league credit. If for some reason you can't make the meeting, contact Hallie 830-8536 or Dupes 229-3093 or any Medalist board member to let them know you're traveling and when your proofs can be turned in.

What’s been going on in the dart world of Anchorage, AK? The summer has led into a slow season with little being said and the games trickling along. Nothing new really, I just thought I’d update everyone on some of the stuff that’s come and gone. Most of these aren’t even dart related.

Sean Palmer had a little one. A boy, just what every dad could ask for. Next time you see him, pat him on the back and ask to see the pictures.

Well, after picking on Pat at the banquet about not putting out any updates in regards to the downtown league, I figured I would put out a quick statement.

While Carpentiers had a great regular season, placing themselves solidly in first place, the Cabin Tavern won the playoffs to take the trophy. A hearty congratulations to both of these teams as well as a thanks to every team and player for a rather fun and enjoyable season.

By far, there was less whining and bickering than I have heard during a league (either soft or steel dart s) in a long time.

If there was ever a month for darts it’s February. Here’s more tournament available to the players than ever before. It will be interesting to see if the quantity of events going on in this month affects the number of people coming out.

Thanks to all that shared comments and volunteered. The State Open now has a date of Feb 8th - 10th. We should have flyers posted soon. Without you, the darters (help), there would be no State Open. Many want to eat the cake, few want to help bake it. I have many commitee members, that may be tapping you on the shoulder for help in the upcoming State open. Don't be afraid, your help is appreciated. If you didn't make it to the meeting and you want to own a piece of this call me at 250-1980... I can find a place where you can help.

The Cricket Regionals are over. The women's playoff was won by Cynthia Outwater, while Alvin Arzaga narrowly captured first place in the men's playoff with 11 wins in the final round. Sean Palmer and Jeff Olson tied for second with 10 wins in the final round, which was decided by a tiebreaker match of a race to three legs which was won by Jeff with 3 wins to two. I will be discussing arraingements for Las Vegas with both the winners from Nome and yesterday's National finalists.
