Medalist sign up will end 9/22. The season starts 10/5. Expect to play on your day that you sign up for unless told otherwise. Forms to sign up are behind the bar, just ask a bartender and they’ll get it for you. A couple questions people had.
1.What are the brackets? A. Novice 3-7/4, C 5-9/5, B 8-13/7, BB 10-15/9, A 16/21.
2.What nights are do we play? Kind of a trick question, you play on the night you were signed up on or moved to because of the number of teams.
3.Do tournament ratings from the Medalist World Championships stay with you? As long as you did not go 3 over your average, you will play as what you entered the event as.
4.How much does it cost? I’m not going to lie, it’s the most expensive dart league I’ve seen. $10.00 in quarters, $2.00 in the envelope. A total of $12.00 a night or $180.00 for the first session.
5.What do I get for playing? The 3 million dollar question, I honestly can’t say I know. Medalist awards pins for achievements. PJ’s pays out the playoff money in each division. There’s a Medalist Board at PJ’s that’s supposed to deicide the rest. In the past there’s been plane tickets to Las Vegas to compete in the World Championships, there’s been a local tournament, and recently there was even cash payout to help defer the cost of traveling to the World Championships. It’s some thing us as Medalist players need to make the board inform us of their intentions and make them stick to it.
6.How long is it? This first session is 15 weeks with a few weeks off. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, one in February, and the last one after the session before playoffs. Session starts 10/5 ends 2/22.
Overall if you have any questions just ask a medalist player, call Marcia, or ask Hallie.
